Building demand before runners crossed the finish line

Deluxe DIY Displays creates DIY medal display kits for major marathon events. Front Row Social developed a stepped campaign covering London, Manchester and Brighton.

The work connected early-access landing pages, event-day email launches, paid creative, organic content and affiliate promotion.

The challenge

Demand peaks around each marathon and runners want a relevant design quickly. The campaign needed to build an audience before race day, release each kit at the right moment and keep promoting while post-event excitement remained high.

Earlier years had used little paid advertising, so the 2026 campaign also needed a reliable structure for scaling spend.

Our approach

Individual landing pages collected early-access registrations for each marathon. Approximately 700 people registered for London, 500 for Manchester and 400 for Brighton.

Static and video adverts targeted runners and their friends and family. Organic POV content, email sequences and a network of four to five affiliates extended reach beyond directly attributed paid sales.

Around £10,000 in paid spend returned approximately five times that amount in directly attributed revenue. Across paid, organic, repeat customers and affiliates, the marathon period generated about £150,000 and around 2,500 kit sales.

Sales increased by nearly 50% year on year. Organic campaign content generated around two million views during the period, separate from an earlier 2024 video that exceeded 11 million views.

Early access for three marathons

Dedicated pages collected around 1,600 combined registrations before launch and gave each audience a relevant route into the product.

The final revenue came from several channels, so the case study separates directly attributed paid return from the wider total.

POV product videos helped the kits travel beyond paid audiences. One earlier London Marathon video reached more than 11 million views.

The takeaway

A launch system that can repeat for every event

The campaign transformed a short sales window into a planned sequence: collect interest, launch at the moment of highest relevance and keep converting attention after race day.
